A bold and beautifully made Victorian signet ring, crafted in England around 1873 and fully hallmarked with 15 .625, the Birmingham anchor, and date letter Y.

Set in rich 15 carat gold, the ring features an oval carnelian with a smooth, matte polish, traditionally left blank or engraved with a crest, but here kept wonderfully minimal.

The wide, gadrooned gold setting gives the piece strong presence and texture, without feeling flashy.

At a UK ring size R, this would originally have been made for a gentleman, someone who valued craftsmanship, permanence, and quiet strength.

Today, it wears equally well on any hand. It’s a piece that feels substantial, sculptural, and unmistakably personal.

British. Circa 1873.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
