ABOUT US

ELTONS was founded in 1976 by Joanna Elton, specialises in sourcing rare and beautifully designed antique jewellery from the Georgian, Edwardian, and Art Deco eras. More recently, we have been carefully selecting unusual and unique pieces from the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, and Nineties - the thrill of discovery continuing to drive our collection forward.

Working with nineteenth- and twentieth-century jewellery across all eras, each piece with its own story to tell, is a privilege. It gives us great pride to know that our jewellery will be treasured through the generations.

For many years, Joanna and her son have worked closely together, guided by a shared instinct for quiet elegance and enduring design. Today, the collection continues to be curated in that same spirit - with Joanna’s influence, her eye, her standards, and her love of beauty still at its heart.

From our Bond Street store in the famous Grays Antique Centre, we continue to grow our clientele organically, both in house and online, with customers from all over the world. Nothing makes us smile more than sending one of our unique pieces off to become part of a new story.

The collection continues to be curated by Joanna’s son, upholding the same eye for timeless beauty that has defined ELTONS since 1976.

Lalique Cecelia Fume Crystal Eye Pendant necklace c.1980s

In early spring 2019, Joanna Elton and her son set out to photograph a Lalique ‘Cecelia’ Fumé eye pendant against the magnolia tree she and her husband, Richard, had planted in 1979 - a Woolworths sapling that had grown taller than the house itself.

When the light shifted, Joanna instinctively cleared the marble mosaic table she had designed, placed the pendant at its centre, and together they captured the image that has come to represent ELTONS.

It was a small, natural decision - but it reflected the qualities that have always defined the business: balance, clarity, craftsmanship, and a refusal to follow fashion over true design.

Today, ELTONS remains true to that original spirit: a business rooted in quiet curation, lasting beauty, and an effortless kind of chic that does not need to announce itself.
