A bold and sculptural brooch from the mid-Victorian period, crafted in richly toned 18ct gold and set with three domed natural coral cabochons.

The central gold disc is finely engraved with concentric rings of decorative detail, while a swag-style gold chain drapes across its face - adding movement, contrast, and eccentric charm.

Likely made in Italy, the piece combines fine coral (almost certainly Sicilian in origin) with intricate hand-finished goldwork, all typical of mid-19th-century Italian jewellery.

The stepped coral settings and dramatic form give it theatrical presence, while the engraved textures and warm tones keep it grounded in tradition.

Wearable, collectible, and full of character — this is a rare survivor from the high romantic period of European goldsmithing.
