This playful and beautifully made brooch by Knoll & Pregizer dates to the 1930s and features two monkeys - one seated on a bar and the other dangling below - each set with sparkling paste stones.
Crafted in sterling silver and stamped with the maker’s mark 925 K&P, the piece captures a sense of movement, character, and light.
Knoll & Pregizer were master silversmiths based in Pforzheim, Germany, known for their fine-quality paste jewellery that often echoed the look and precision of fine diamonds.
This brooch is no exception. The monkeys are full of personality, with carefully modelled faces and limbs, and brilliant faceted paste that catches the light from every angle.
At 7.5cm long and 3.5cm wide, it makes a confident and unusual statement on the lapel.
This is not just novelty, it’s design with intent, backed by exceptional craftsmanship.
A rare survivor from one of Germany’s finest early 20th-century jewellery houses.
Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
