This Victorian Scottish silver horn brooch is a standout example of mid-19th century craftsmanship, likely made in Scotland around 1880. Inlaid with polished agates in rich earthy tones - including banded, moss, and bloodstone varieties - each segment is hand-cut and fitted into a curved silver mount, forming a dynamic mosaic of colour and texture.

These brooches were popularised during Queen Victoria’s reign, when Scottish jewellery surged in popularity, and were often worn as souvenirs, tokens of heritage, or fashion statements.

Measuring approximately 10cm across, this piece carries strong visual impact while remaining wearable.

A bold, collectable example of Victorian Scottish agate jewellery,  full of colour, history, and individuality.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
