Art Deco Jewellery

Art Deco is a style movement of visual arts that influenced the design of architecture, fashion and jewellery during its heyday in the roaring 1920s, 30s and 40s. Art Deco Jewellery placed great emphasis on innovation and glamour. Audacious geometric structures and dense concentration of gemstones were common attributes in jewellery designs of the Art Deco period.

The sleek cosmopolitan look of the machine age was a powerful and symbolic shift from the natural forms that were characteristics of the Art Nouveau period. Materials synonymous with Art Deco jewellery were platinum, gold, onyx and colourful gemstones such as Emeralds, Rubies & Sapphires that adorned the pieces.
