This English ring from the 1930s is a fine example of the Arts and Crafts movement, designed and hallmarked by Bernard Instone (9ct & SILVER BI), featuring a rich red carnelian cabochon, framed by a hand worked surround of silver leaves and petals, set on a warm 9ct gold band.

Instone was born in Kings Norton in 1891 and trained under Arthur Gaskin at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.

By the 1930s, he had become one of the leading figures of British Arts and Crafts jewellery, known for pieces that combine craftsmanship with an organic style.

The ring measures 2.8cm by 2.8cm and is a size M.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
