An exceptional continental brooch, likely made in Northern Italy or Austria around 1860s, combining rare materials with extraordinary craftsmanship.
At its heart lies a luminous oval panel of white chalcedony, inlaid with a scrolling botanical motif in turquoise cabochons and rose cut diamonds.
This is framed by a striking surround of hand carved banded onyx flowerheads, each individually cut and set.
Set in 18ct gold and measuring approximately 5cm x 4cm.
Available exclusively at ELTONS, specialists in antique jewellery, London.
