Old Cut Diamond Cluster Ring in Silver & 18ct Gold | Georgian c.1820s
An exceptional Georgian diamond cluster ring, dating to around the 1820s and set with approximately 4.5 carats of old cut diamonds. The stones are mounted in silver over gold, typical of the period, with a later 18ct gold band sympathetically replaced to ensure strength and comfort for modern wear.
The double cluster oval design showcases two larger central diamonds surrounded by concentric halos of smaller old cuts, each hand cut to reflect light with the soft brilliance characteristic of early stones. The silver topped setting has developed a beautiful antique patina that contrasts elegantly with the warm gold shank, and would is a wonderful statement piece.
