This striking Art Nouveau pendant from the early 1900s features a beautifully faceted citrine weighing approximately 45 carats - its bold golden tone setting the stage for a vibrant arrangement of amethyst, carnelian, agate, and chalcedony.

The sculptural setting in silver flows naturally around the stones, creating a balanced, organic composition that captures the spirit of the Art Nouveau movement.

The design and materials are strongly reminiscent of the jewellery produced in Pforzheim, Germany during this period - particularly pieces by or in the style of Theodor Fahrner and other makers known for their use of semi-precious stones, silver, and softly asymmetrical layouts.

While unmarked, the pendant shows all the hallmarks of that school: elegant proportions, harmonious colour use, and a confident sense of movement.

At 7cm in length and 4.5cm across, this is a piece with real presence, designed to be worn, but unmistakably crafted with artistic intent.

It’s a rare example of early 20th-century design that still feels fresh, expressive, and deeply individual.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
