A 1970s hammered silver collar ornament, designed to hook neatly over the neckline of a dress or top - not quite a pendant, not a brooch, but something in between, made to sit flush and move with the body.
The softly textured silver body tapers into a fringe of gold-tone rods that move gently as you wear it, giving the piece rhythm without fuss.
It’s bold, but balanced. This kind of sculptural jewellery was made to be part of the outfit, not just added to it, the sort of piece worn over fluid knits or minimal tailoring.
It sits comfortably in the world of early Issey Miyake or Paco Rabanne, when fashion was about form, movement, and space around the body.
Despite its scale and the unusual collar hook fastening, it’s surprisingly easy to wear. It slips neatly over the neckline of a dress or top and brings the whole look together without trying too hard.
Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
