A striking Victorian signet ring, made in London in 1899 and set with a domed panel of rich, dark bloodstone, deep green flecked with red, and smooth to the touch.
The stone is unusually shaped, not flat like most signets, but gently arched, and set in a solid 9ct gold mount, with finely engraved shoulders.
Traditionally associated with strength and protection, bloodstone was often chosen for its symbolism as well as its beauty.
This one remains unengraved, ready to be personalised, or left just as it is.
