A stunning late Victorian Scottish bracelet, c.1880s, composed of circular plaques inlaid with agates and onyx in bold cross motifs, in the pietra dura technique. 

The plaques are linked by an elasticated band, typical of the period, which is both decorative and practical. 

A striking example of Victorian hardstone jewellery that reflects both Scottish taste and the wider influence of Italian pietra dura craftsmanship.
