An elegant early Victorian citrine seal, finely engraved with the classical profile of the Greek philosopher Socrates, set within a sculptural 9ct gold mount. 

Socrates was a great thinker who lived for truth and today represents wisdom, strength of mind, and the courage to think for yourself.

Originally made to hang from a gentleman’s watch chain, this piece is now beautiful worn on a long gold chain as a pendant.

The carving itself is sharply defined, showing delicate hair and beard detail, and framed within a fluted gold base and engraved handle.
