Made in the 1960s, likely in Kaliningrad, the heart of Soviet amber production, this bracelet is set with warm, honey toned pieces of genuine Baltic amber, cut into bold geometric forms and linked with a double strand of 875 grade silver, the USSR’s official standard for fine silver.

It closes with its original box clasp, still secure more than 60 years on.

Stamped with the Soviet hallmark, a five pointed star bearing the hammer and sickle, and the “875” silver purity mark, the bracelet also carries a workshop stamp from one of the Baltic state run artels known for handcrafted amber jewellery.

This bracelet would have been cherished, and carefully kept, as it remains in excellent condition.
