A very pretty 1940s guilloché enamel butterfly brooch by renowned Norwegian silversmith Olav Fritjof Hjortdahl, crafted in sterling silver and hand enamelled in luminous pastel tones.
The wings shift from soft lemon yellow through mint green to aqua blue, with hints of blush and coral at the tips, all laid over exquisite engine turned texturing that radiates in the light.
Marked 925S STERLING NORWAY with Hjortdahl’s maker’s marK, the brooch is fitted with a secure pin and roll over clasp, and remains in excellent vintage condition.
