rare and beautifully made 15ct gold pendant fob from the late Victorian era, c.1880.

One side is set with polished bloodstone; the other, with a carnelian seal stone deeply engraved with a family crest, possibly that of the Massey family.

The crest features a griffin, along with their Latin family motto, finely cut into the stone.

Both sides are framed in a clean, square bezel with a hidden hinge.

Originally created as a gentleman’s watch fob, this piece has been subtly adapted into a striking modern pendant.

The locket opens smoothly to reveal a hidden compartment, historically used to hold a protective charm or personal keepsake.

Chain length: 41cm. Fob: 1cm x 1cm.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
