Seed Pearl & 18ct Gold Necklace by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. | Edwardian Royal Jewellers, c.1905

POA

Made around 1905 by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co., jewellers by appointment to the King, this Edwardian necklace is a very special piece of craftsmanship.

Crafted in rich 18ct gold with around 230 natural seed pearls, arranged across a series of articulated and gently graduating gold drop motifs

The construction and fittings suggest it may once have been a tiara, later reworked as a necklace, in line with the period’s tradition of transformation before and after marriage.

At 41cm, it sits just at the collarbone and glows softly against the skin, with the lustre of the tiny fine pearls set off by the warmth of the gold.

Still housed in its original fitted box, it captures the grace and elegance of the Edwardian period.

A timeless bridal piece and future heirloom.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
