A beautifully crafted silver and enamel belt buckle by Levi & Salaman, hallmarked Birmingham, 1910.
The octagonal silver frame is decorated with translucent white guilloché enamel, and hand painted with a border of blue forget me nots and green leaf tendrils.
Made to fasten a sash or belt, a practical and fashionable piece in its time.
It works beautifully today also, worn with a ribbon at the waist, clipped to a jacket, or repurposed as a pendant or hairpiece.
Levi & Salaman were known for their decorative silver and enamel work, producing elegant, finely finished pieces that bridged the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements.
Hallmarked with the maker’s mark for Levi & Salaman and full British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1910.
