A richly coloured ruby and diamond half hoop ring, handmade in Britain circa 1850.

Five cushion cut rubies, totalling approximately 0.40 carats, are set in a scalloped silver gallery and framed by rose cut diamonds.

The stones are set low and close in a closed back mount, typical of the mid Victorian era. The ring is crafted in 9ct gold with a silver top, a combination traditionally used to enhance the brightness of the diamonds.

Romantic and vibrant, this ring wears beautifully on its own or stacked.

Currently ring size M.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
